Do you want to show how creative you are? Here’s your opportunity to do so.

Select a well-known Malaysian fable, myth or legend, for example, Sang Kancil, Puteri Gunung Ledang AND do a SCAPE on it.

What is SCAPE? It’s changing the

Setting:
You change the setting of the fable/myth/legend.
For example, in the Sang Kancil fable, you change the jungle setting to an urban one.

Character:
You change the main and/or the minor characters.
For example, Sang Kancil is not a mousedeer but a crocodile.

Age:
You change the time frame of the setting or the age of the characters.
For example, Sang Kancil is not a young mousedeer but an old one.

Point of View:
You change the point of view of the fable/myth/legend.
For example, Sang Kancil has been portrayed as a clever and mischievous animal; you might depict him as lazy and stupid.

Ending:
You change the ending of the fable/myth/legend.
For example, the Sang Kancil fable always ended with Sang Kancil getting away with his escapades; you might want to change
that.

NOTE: You do not need to do all five aspects of SCAPE; you might decide to do just one only, for example, the Ending. That is perfectly okay with us.: You do not need to do all five aspects of SCAPE; you might decide to do just one only, for example, the Ending. That is perfectly okay with us.

You may work on your own, with a small group of classmates or with your whole class. You can have your teacher check your work.
